Hope Christian School, a PreK-12 institution in Albuquerque, was facing a branding challenge. A previous agency's efforts to create a new logo and mascot had stalled, leaving them with incomplete collateral. They needed a fresh, cohesive visual identity to boost school spirit and appeal to parents, teachers, and students.
My role was to step in, take ownership of the project, and develop a new logo and mascot illustration that resonated with the school community. This involved collaborating closely with the school's founder and board to establish a clear creative direction, managing the project within budget and time constraints, and overseeing print production.
I began by conducting thorough research into the school's values and target audience. I then presented several logo and mascot concepts, incorporating feedback from the founder and board to refine the designs. We focused on creating a friendly, approachable mascot and a modern, professional logo that conveyed the school's commitment to faith and education. I managed the design process, ensuring all deliverables were completed on time and within budget. I also worked directly with print producers to optimize costs and ensure high-quality output.
The new logo and mascot successfully revitalized Hope Christian School's brand identity. The designs were enthusiastically received by parents, teachers, and students, fostering a stronger sense of community and school spirit. The project was completed under budget and within the tight deadline, exceeding the school's expectations. The cohesive collateral, including print materials, helped the school to present a unified and professional image, strengthening its reputation in the community.
